Handcrafted. Local. One-of-a-Kind.
We’re Sarah & James, founders and makers of The Steamy Pheasant. Over a year ago, the idea for a mobile sauna began while enjoying our own small sauna at home. We quickly realised it gave us something rare, quiet moments together, without screens or distractions, with all the wellness benefits of heat therapy.
We wanted to bring that experience to others.
Built By Us, Locally Sourced
Every inch of The Steamy Pheasant is handcrafted using locally sourced cedar, including timber from Fonthill Abbey Woods, quite literally a mile from our home. We wanted the sauna to be as close to nature as possible, both in build and in experience.
Our design is purposefully different:

The sauna is fully insulated, making it more energy-efficient than typical barrel saunas.

You sit slightly higher, for an enhanced heat experience.

It uses less timber, making it the more sustainable choice.

It reaches higher temperatures while holding heat beautifully.

Choose from fully off-grid operation or connect to water & electricity if needed.
